Rad Hourani's "FLAGS" series reappropriates the flag, a powerful symbol of authority and division, to amplify the voices of the oppressed. These flags, quilted into banners, envision a unified humanity, challenging ideological markers that categorize and incite loyalty for propagandistic purposes. By reimagining the flag, Rad pays homage to our innate desire for belonging and unity, often sought through religions and cults, and empowers individuals to become their own rulers within a collective sense of unity.
