"As it has evolved, my work represents really nothing beyond itself. It is intended for the observer to simply interact with the work visually and respond in their own way, with their own “eye”, creating some equivalence between the maker and the perceiver. From this neutrality, an experience that is slow and lasting can emerge. My interest in flat paint, leaving unpainted areas of canvas and three dimensional elements, all are to emphasize the object rather than representing something beyond it. The titles are developed to refer simply to what is seen, however subtle secondary readings are possible. "
