Kevin Perkins work is as experimental as it is refined, whether painting portraits, landscapes, still life, or abstracts. His painterly gesture is precisely energetic, and with this, it brings on a signature style that is entirely its own. In this body of work, the still life is a platform that reflects on the daily life spent in quarantine. His still life arrangements are markers of time filled with what he’s currently observing, listening to, drinking, or what his kids were playing with on a particular day. This work offers an intimate look into his daily life at a time when social distancing required separateness and isolation.
