"My painting process is an exploration of the phenomenology of our perception of space. The current era may be more like the era of space. We are at the time of the simultaneous, of juxtaposition, of the near and the far, side by side, of the dispersed. Through images which arise and disappear within a click, the ubiquity of temporalities, and the relative permanence and evanescence of place and experience, space slips through our fingers: impossible to trap, except perhaps through the practice of painting. Thereby, I favor the concept of landscape as a genre in painting in order to break down certain archetypes of our reality linked to space. Continuously conscious of the ineffable link between the point of view of the spectator and that of the painter, I use my lived experience of nature and architecture to construct pictorial stagings that propose spatial contradictions. Everything comes together to thwart the perception of the viewer who plunges his gaze into these uncertain environments. My goal is to create images documenting our synchronic era while reversing the sovereignty of time, that is, taking the time to stop, linger, solve the logic of the painting.”
