"Textiles, textualité et identité"

MICHAËLLE SERGILE

SEPTEMBER 19TH - OCTOBER 17TH 2020

Textiles, textualité et identité is an exhibition reflecting on the different positions and discourse that fiber can carry. Working initially on how sound is physically transcribed into fabric, the artist highlights a poem, The Mask, recited by writer Maya Angelou. Inspired by the sonogram produced by the poem, the artist creates a weaving code that allows her to accentuate by making tangible the political presence of laughter and silence.
